Brownie Cookies: Crackly Tops & Fudgy Centers

What do you get when you cross a rich, gooey brownie with a soft, chewy cookie? The ultimate chocolate indulgence—Brownie Cookies. With shiny, crackled tops and fudgy centers, these cookies taste just like a brownie but in bite-sized form. They’re a chocolate lover’s dream and are guaranteed to disappear fast.

Why Brownie Cookies Are So Addictive

These cookies offer the best of both worlds: the classic flavor of brownies and the handheld ease of cookies. They’re soft and dense on the inside, with a delicate outer shell that gives a satisfying bite. Perfect with a glass of cold milk or a warm coffee, they’re a go-to for bake sales, holidays, or anytime you crave a chocolate fix.

✅ Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter

  • 1 1/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (melted)

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • Extra chocolate chips for topping (optional)

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

2. Melt the butter and chocolate:
In a microwave-safe bowl or over a double boiler, melt the butter and chocolate chips together until smooth. Let cool for 5 minutes.

3. Mix the sugars and eggs:
In a large bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until light and slightly frothy.

4. Combine and stir:
Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the sugar mixture and stir to combine.

5. Add dry ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Add this to the wet ingredients and stir until a thick, shiny dough forms.

6. Scoop and top:
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart. Press a few extra chocolate chips on top of each cookie for that bakery-style look.

7. Bake:
Bake for 10–12 minutes or until the tops are shiny and cracked. The centers should still look slightly soft.

8. Cool before serving:
Let the cookies cool on the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Tips for Best Results:

  • For extra fudginess, refrigerate the dough for 15–30 minutes before baking.

  • Don’t overbake—the cookies continue to set as they cool.

  • Use good-quality cocoa powder and chocolate for rich flavor.

Brownie Cookies are a crowd-pleasing treat that’s as easy to make as they are to love. Whether you’re baking for a special event or just want a batch of pure chocolate comfort, these cookies will not disappoint. Soft, rich, and beautifully crackled on top—they’re everything you love about brownies, transformed into cookie form.
