Homemade Pizza – A Slice of Heaven
Pizza is one of those dishes that has universal appeal. It’s versatile, easy to make, and loved by all. With a few simple ingredients, you can create a crispy crust, savory sauce, and a melty cheese topping that rivals any pizzeria.
Ingredients for the Dough
- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 ¼ cups warm water (110°F/45°C)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Toppings
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- A pinch of dried oregano, garlic powder
- Your favorite pizza toppings (pepperoni, mushrooms, olives, onions, etc.)
Making the Dough
To begin, mix the dry ingredients—flour, yeast, salt, and sugar—in a large bowl. Gradually add the warm water and olive oil, stirring until it all combines into a dough. Knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes until it’s soft, smooth, and elastic. After kneading, cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
Assembling the Pizza
Once your dough has risen, preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Roll out the dough into your desired pizza shape, then spread your pizza sauce evenly over the surface. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese generously on top and add your favorite toppings.
Baking the Pizza
Place your pizza in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling. Once out of the oven, slice and enjoy this delicious homemade pizza—perfectly crispy and cheesy!
